#NaPoWriMo Day 18 : Insomniac Arrest
Prompt : Rubaí Poem
I am one acquainted with the night.
Awakened by the sun covered by a light.
4 am knows my secrets
Blurred lines out of my sight.
All the little monsters appear so queer
The dark, the hardest part to be alive being it so near
Why should I wake when I am half past dead near a lake
The darkest evening of the year.
Where is the sense in these desperate dreams which is I they shake
Who is the voice ringing in my head, vivid mistake.
Bad dreams through the door I sweep
Tea bags on my eyes, a warm glass of regret flake.
Bad case of the 4 am guilts, tiring and deep
This imagination I can no longer keep,
And so I ask, when will I sleep?
When will I ever sleep.
